The University of Konstanz is one of eleven Universities of Excellence in Germany. Since 2007 it has been successful in the German Excellence Initiative and its follow-up programme, the Excellence Strategy.

The Centre for Cultural Inquiry (ZKF) is one of the University of Konstanz’s central research institutions. It bundles and supports research activities in the cultural studies oriented humanities and social sciences. Currently, for example, we are dedicated to phenomena of social cohesion and communal sense, the global mobility of aesthetic and social forms, and the description of practices of plausibility. Recently, we have begun to jointly formulate cultural studies approaches for a new kind of research into infrastructures.

Our website provides detailed information on these and other focus areas and research initiatives: www.zkf.uni.kn

The two positions are located directly at the Centre, which is funded by the University. They offer the opportunity to pursue one's own research project and to participate in advancing the internationalisation of Konstanz's cultural studies.
