The position is available from 1 October 2024 and limited to one year (until 30 September 2025) as it is a substitute position in teaching. In principle, this position can be split into two part-time positions.

The Chair of Modern and Contemporary History (Prof. Dr. Manuel Borutta) in the Department of History, Sociology, Empirical Educational Research and Sport Science advertises a full-time academic staff position to be filled by 1 October 2024, available for 1 year until 30 September 2025.

Your Responsibilities

    • Teaching of 4 semester hours per week in the History degree programmes in German or English
    • Participation in the colloquia and workshops of the research group and the Mediterranean Platform

Your Competencies

    • Excellent Master or PhD degree in history
    • Innovative doctoral or postdoctoral research project
    • Fluent German and English language skills
    • Communication and organisation skills
    • Interest in interdisciplinary and trans-epochal problems of history
