This position is an exciting opportunity for you, if you wish to develop strong data science skills and gain knowledge in molecular biology by conducting bioinformatics research towards a better understanding of cell identity and function. The position is available within the research group of Tenure-Track Prof. Dr. Andreas Gruber, which has a focus on developing and applying data science approaches to study gene activity regulation in health and disease (further information: https://www.biologie.uni-konstanz.de/gruber).
You will apply cutting-edge computational tools to analyse high-throughput sequencing data to study the gene activity programs that regulate cell identity and function. The results of your work will contribute to current efforts to unveil the molecular mechanisms underlying basic cell biology as well as diseased cellular states, such as cancers. Some of our studies: https://doi.org/10.1038/s41586-024-07747-9, https://doi.org/10.1038/s41467-024-48046-1, https://doi.org/10.1093/nar/gkad878, https://doi.org/10.1038/s41592-018-0114-z. You will get the opportunity to analyse exciting datasets, work on your own data science approaches / tools (as required), and contribute to research collaborations of our lab. If you aim to become an expert in biomedical data sciences and you are intrinsically motivated to unravel to molecular mechanisms underlying health and disease, please don’t hesitate and get in touch!
